Artadia Trading Card Benefit

Thursday night, after attending two art fairs and two vintage stores, I made my way to the real reason I was in town, the Artadia Trading Card Benefit, a fundraiser for Artadia: The Fund for Art and Dialogue.   300 original trading cards made by Artadia artists were sold for $50 each, first come first served.  10 cards were secretly marked wild, carrying with them an additional free card by an even more established (“famous”) artist.

These are the cards that I made for the event:

This last one took me something like 7 hours to complete.  I transcribed the entirety of the Wikipedia entry on Art, by hand, onto the front of this card.  My hand started cramping at about 3 hours… why did I think this was something I needed to do?

Below are the cards I purchased or won.  I am so excited to own an original Raul Gonzalez!

And my Raul card won me this wild card, a Catherine Wagner!
